So...

My heat/ac won't blow in the upper ducts, as the thread title says. I can turn it on and off, but I cannot adjust it to the various other areas. I believe the switch is fine (I can turn it to AC or Max AC, off, etc.), but it will not adjust what ducts it blows to except the floor/defrost or defrost-only.

What exact parts are at fault for this?

Have you recntly installed an after market system? The doors that control the air flow are vacumn controlled. The selector control has vacumn lines attached to it. There is a vacumn storage tank under the dash and a line from the intake manifold goes to the tank.

Not yet I haven't. I bought it like this. I thought it was electronically controlled? When I took my DIN panel off to install my new head unit, it only had wires attached to it as far as I remember.

You could of possibly ripped them of pulling the old hvac unit.Pull it all back out and double check.

A common occurance. There are wires and vacumn lines on the control.
