Allright I am going to install my UDP from Powder tomorrow. Anything I should know about installation, or any advice on anything I should check/watch while doing it?

I am planning on red lock-tite and an impact already. Or shoud I use black max? JK. But seriously, if there are any tricks or advice anyone wants to throw me before I do it I'll listen...I only want to do it once.

It's pretty straight forward. Impact is the biggest thing imo. Have a crow bar handy to pry the stock pulley of cuz sometimes it's stuck. Only use a rubber mallet to lightly tap the UDP on and don't hit the outside edge of it cuz you'll cave in the first belt groove if you hit it too hard.

I have all my tools at the shop so I should be good. I don't have a mallet but I have a deadblow....maybe combined with a 1x4 or 2x4 section of scrap wood?

crow bar? lol. if u can find one use a wheel puller. makes pulling wheels a dream.

I had to have my mom help me when I changed my UDP. I was rerouting the belt, and for some reason I couldn't get it to stay, so she held the belt for me.

I can do it pretty easily myself now, so I feel like I'm a big boy.

It's pretty easy though.

if you got the belt from powder and its brand new it is goign to be pretty tough to get on since it is a new belt and it is goign to fit very snug. i would jsut get an extra hand to have on person take the slack outta the belt and one to pull it over the tensioner.

gl man. have fun with the dimming lights :]

I'm not gonna have the option of a helper......

and does it affect the alternator that much. My lights already dim when I'm idling.....guess I'll found out.

Yeah dude, I bet your lights will dim a lot more with the pulley.

the belt is a PITA, other than that rememmber to scrape off some of the plastic shielding and your good. good luck, and dont install any stereo equipment until you get an ODP

Clean everything well.
I'd put a little lube on the crank/pulley, and maybe locktite the bolt.
Heat the pulley for easier assembly. It will expand a bit and slide on easier. You don't have to burn your hands, just get it warm/hot .

^^yup and ^yup. Only problem I had was I had to take some side cutters and trim off some sections of the timing belt cover. I did it after driving to work, everything was freeking hot as hell but the old pulley came off easily, and the new one slid on with a little tapping after I let it sit on there for a minute (I had to go look up the belt pattern...my short term memory must be shot).

Overall....easy mod. I don't know why, but I had never hit the rev limiter before to my knowledge-until now. Could have just been the way I took the corner though.....

I can't say I noticed too much of a change....other than I can turn my ac on and it doesn't lug the engine down. Awesome on that part. Can anyone explain that too me? I am having trouble picturing how the ac compressor moving slower is making it work better....I understand more torque is being transferred by the smaller pulley, but most of the stuff on the accessory drive/belt drive is now running slower then designed yet the car seems to run better.??? Maybe I'm just being a dumbass and missing something obvious?

J Mob - The AC is not spinning as fast and taking as much power - it is not really working any better. Simply not being as much of a drag, like 20-40 % less, and you feel it.
When you are in the car by yourself, with the AC off, you should notice a bit more acceleration and pep. Your gas mileage may go up 1/2 to 1 mile per gallon also.
