Why is the Schrader Valve so much better than other fuel rails? Does this valve increase gas mileage, horse power...ect? Is it worth switching a fuel rail with another one that has this valve?

easier to use a nitrous setup if you decide to go that route.. also alowas easier fuel pressure redings for diagnostics ..

The valve has no power or mileage magic. It was/is there to relieve pressure when working on the fuels system, fuel filter, injectors, or primarily as an easy way to connect a pressure gauge. Exactly why it was discontinued is questionable, probably cost.

It was for checking the pressure, like iceracer stated.
There is no good way to check the pressure now. It is a ridiculous situation. What the heck were they thinking????

Ford engineers were thinking it would cut a few cents from production price of the car and they don't have to work on the cars for people. Win Win situation for them.

Does anyone have a pic of the schraeder valve? Mine is an early 99 and I think I have one on mine. Not sure though but there is a "bung" sort of like whats on rims to inflate the tires on the left side of the fuel rail.

Coolbeans! So really the Shraeder valve isnt just on 98's but also early 99's? Is mine just really really early 99 or is this basically all IAT sensored Z's?

Right in the middle under the throttle body is the fuel temp sensor.

Cool looks good. Uhh, hope I dont sound noobish but whats the purpose of a fuel temp sensor? I know it reads the temp of the fuel. lol But what does it affect if the fuel IS too hot or cold?

Not all the 98's had the fuel temp sensor. Apparently it isn't that important since the later years didn't have it.

One more thing to break.

One more thing to break.

I was wondering if it did break would it matter if the other ZX2 don't need it?

If you feel you really need a schrader valve...just look at your tires....every wheel has one.
