has anyone ever put the SVT focus engine and trans in a ZX2??
i know anything is possible with enough time and money, but would
it require major fabrication.. sense it is still the same engine as ours..

There is a lot of work that goes into it, but it can be done. How badly do you want to do it? What are your goals?

one reason is it has 170hp stock, i think it would be a good starting point.

That's not really all that much more than a Z. Put in cams and a few other things, and you'd be good. The work it would take to put the SVT engine in, and the amount of work it takes... Not a good ratio. I know there is a write up in the how-to section for the MTX-75 swap, and I think there is the rest of it for the SVT engine too. I know it's been done.

Okay, yeah, the swap was on the old site, but it's not on here.

It was done, cincys/r did it.
Still doesn't run.

I am doing and let me tell you, unless you plan to road race it's not worth it. I also got an amazingggg deal on it. For the price of a SVTF engine you could have cams, decked head, exhaust, header, and SCT.
Like Beodude said, raise your CR, get some cams and other basis bolt ons. Keep in mind a stock SVTF engine dynos in at around 145-150 whp. Nothing a standard Zetec can't easily achieve.
The beauty is in the torque curve, its freakin killer.
I thought the first swapped SVTF engine ran but he didn't have VCT working, which is the most important thing to me, seeing as I sold the rods/pistons a while back.

I heard those things don't have power until later on. I haven't driven one though.
