I drive on that road everyday for class, if i was a few mins later, i would have been in the traffic or yet even seen it. Now these we're police officers of the town, now if it was a regular civilian, It would state "high speed was most likily the reason for the accident". Obviously the press is covering it up. The speed limit on that highway varies from 45-55. It must have happened in the 45-50 section though.

Definitely was. Its usually a pretty quiet highway at certain times. Also, maybe this is why i seen no cops on the way home. I do 60 the whole way home because you get ran over by the dicks from new brunswick and your typical asshole.s

Why were two on duty cops speeding in a rented Viper?

One of the reasons people want to be cops is so they can drive fast and stupid but get away with it. The rest of us just drive fast and stupid and take our chances.
Regardless, my condolences go out to the families involved. Whether someone used poor judgement, one has recognize the sadness of someone passing on from an accident.

Come on guys, whatever the reason a person still died. Let's try to keep this thread at least somewhat respectful.

Ooooh don't say that, Lieutenant Zerby was cop of the millenium and should not be questioned!!!
Drawing a parallel to my own profession, if Marine Navy Cross winner Captain Brian Chontosh takes an MRAP out 4-wheeling 50 miles from the FOB, rolls it and kills his buddy, he deserves to be called an idiot, not matter the accolades he has earned and the level of risk undertaken in his daily life. Some of the comments piss me off. The dude was clearly traveling at an excessive rate of speed (ironic and hypocritical for traffic cops of their tenure and repute). That he would have a pass on killing his buddy is absurd. He deserves a similar fate as Nick Hogan.

Didn't realize that the person driving wasn't killed and the person who was the passenger was killed. Either way the comments besides yours weren't in reference to the officer's responsibility for another officer's death.
I agree if he was speeding which it seems like he was then he should be charged with something and removed from the police force. I'd rather not assume what happened.

Poor Viper... And it's sad to hear that someone died because of a poor decision. Although we all do dumb things, just hopefully we don't put other people's lives at risk.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand... That DEFINITELY was not a crash doing 45 or 50.
