Well it was talked about on the old board....BUT nobody was willin to front the cash or destroy one of there cars....SOOOOOo......

http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/registration/index_manage.php

check it out...I found a use for some of my old parts and the 200$ wonder.... waiting to hear back confirming our acceptance but in the mean time .... if anyone wants to come hang out at the event feel free to lemme know if were accepted were taking the zx2 and at least a spare engine trans setup with us just incase as well as a couple of old radiators the enclosed trailer generator and the full on tools. We're deffinatly in it to win it..If anyone has some old wheels in the sc nc area that they wanna sell CHEAP cuz of the 500 dollar rule tires excluded that would be great also.. any old ones will work .. MAY also be looking for 2 more drivers as there is a 4 registered driver minimum as of now its just me and a firend driving probobly gonna register 2 ghost drivers and just run the duo.

here was our team concept submission....if it doesnt make sense to you just read up as to what the event is about.

team concept:
Where else can we resonably expect to race a Ford Escort? 24 hours of wanton mayhem...YES PLEASE.. ever see a full on crew of starwars dressed idiots...that'll be us....the guys with the tiki setup (pool flamingos and inflatable palm tree) that'll be us ...the guys with the BIGG GRILL..lottsa food... once again... US!! Everyone on the teamzx2.com site thought it would be great to do but nobody else had the balls to do it to there car, well ... my friends and I do ... so we've already procured a 1998 2dr escort zx2 just BEGGIN to be GUTTED AND DESROYED!! they talk about doin it...were ready... car is sitting in a warehouse at my work alredy have everything we'll need for the event.. Just give us the word and and she'll be built and ready within a week.less if we know in time for a 60 hr weekend thrash and build. We may even have to drive it to the track if we dont have a tow vehicle but if ya choose our grill and us... we'll make the event.. hell or high water...Hell ...we'll race in costumes or drag (well i'll make them wear drag) if thats what it takes.. ..o yeah...one more thing...can my inflate-a-date ride-along? Shes always ready and NEVER complains bout my drivin OR TELLS me to ask for DIRECTIONS! Shes great!

ill load up some pics of the car tonight or tommorow...sucks havin to reload all the old stuff we lost.. wheel wize ..14 -16 were just gonna need several sets of trash wheels whats killin us is the whole 500 dollar limit.. and its gonna be hard to convince the techs that we bought the car for 20 and I sold bits off it already so its only a 75 dollar car by doin the math.

There will be one in CT also.
Just be aware that the cars have to have a full cage and drivers have to have full safety gear. This can add up to be expensive. I've heard figures as much as 1k per driver.
Don't forget, in 24 hrs, the drivers have to eat and have a place to rest, preferably under cover in case of rain. And of course there is fuel.
I don't mean to sound negative. I just want to point out the reality of what is involved.

O im fully aware .. we run dirt and asphalt cirlce track as well as my drag car doen a bit of auto-x as well as a rally x or two ... were gonna be bringing the 28 ft enclosed with an engine drive generator/welder full on grill and coolers spare engine/ trans combo spare brakes and rotors possbily even calipers two of my old radiators that had slight leaks from rocks gettin those fixed, and old hoses and spare belts from when i did my last service andchanged out the old ones jsut to be safe. oxy/acy torch JUST incase all the safety gear we already have all current sfi rated suits full coverage ( gloves, shoes, suits, socks, hood, and unders) proper snell helmets, 5pts, seats ,halon fire system from one of my dads old latemodels, cage is gonna be the same as the one in my old car luckly I kept the mesurmentsfrom it so that wont be hard. only real problum thus far is being findin enough wheels for the tires tires are not the issue ..Just gotta have somthing to mount them on. BUT YES it will be EXPENSIVE allracing is jsut the registration and drivers fees is like 1100-1200 bucks for the event not including fuel and food.

Sounds as if you have it pretty well covered.
