does an sct take the place of an aftermarket ecu and gives you the ability to tune the car after being camed or turbod?

sct is a programmed chip that you install onto your ecu.Synapses in albany could tune it for you.

There are no aftermarket ECUs.
We get a good Ford one, or a chip or programmer.
Idle speed, ignition advance curve, and air/fuel ratio are the main things we need to adjust. Mostly the ignition advance curve.

Evil - Around 30-34 deg advance max.
Use premium gas if you advance your timing.
Pull your knock sensor plug so it doesn't confuse things -you should do this anyway.
Testing is up to you. You can do runs in 2nd gear starting at 2,500 RPMS and test he time to a certain speed or High RPM. Or use a G-Tech - they are handy for relative measurements.

I wouldn't trust a G-tech.people on here have had problems with sniper.Hopefully you wont have any.

03 - Car magazines test with G-Techs now, instead of 5th wheels.
You must have very exacting NASA specification needs to have problems with G-Tech devices!
The old ones were good, and the new ones are really good.
I have had experience with both. The new ones are easier to use - no adjustments needed for getting the angle right.
Very handy.

well I can tell you I do not know about pulling the Knock sensor, I have had mine in for eve with a 93 OCt tune from SCT and it runs great. Get the X-cal3 and you will be set. Make sure the tuner knows how to tune a ZX2 though. Some of them big mustang tuners think they know.

Posted via Mobile Device it would make sence to pullthe knock since it is so sensitive my confuse things...unless it is turned off with the sct tune

mech, 30 to 35 degrees WOT? on my scanguage im seeing about 29 tops at WOT. i have seen between 30 to 41 at low RPM low throttle.
Ive got an NGP0 (knocksensor unplugged) with just a basic special forces tune for my setup (93oct., CAI, LT header, cat-less catback, no rear 02). the only problem i ran into is my idle speed wouldnt adjust with special forces, lucky for me I bought delta force and was able to clear that up just fine. Not a single problem with the tune.
I havent advanced the ignition any more than the standard special forces tune so am I safe to add a few degrees at WOT?

Evil - Right - WOT.
Any car can use more advance than that for cruising efficiency, though. This is normal.
The 30-35 is limited by if you spark knock. It may not do it in first or second, but a long stretch in third or fourth may knock with the same settings. Beware of 'flash' settings that work great instantaneously on the dyno or with your short gears.
