View Full Version : Audi TT owner.... not so happy

So, this weekend I installed my 3" downpipe on the GTI. While not a huge increase in power, it was noticeable (most claim 10-15hp at the wheels). Well, I went out for a drive after finishing (told the wife I had to "check for leaks"). Well, evreything sounded/felt great so I was headed home.
As I get to a light, I see a beautiful new ('07 or '08) Audi TT in the lane next to me. At the light, I ease on the gas as my semi-crap tires don't hold the torque my car makes when the turbo starts to spool up. Light turns green.... All of a sudden I hear the TT's tires squealing from beside me. So, I romp it.
As I get into boost, the TT is at my rear quarter-panel... I continue to pull as I shift into second. I shut it down around 65 (speed limit is 55...) and he was at/just behind my rear bumper.
I kinda felt bad for him, since I know what he paid for that car vs. what I just paid for mine, lol. Even better though, on Monday I got the ECU re-flashed with APR's stage 2. The car pulls like a mofo now. I'll be on the dyno sometime this week or next doing some tweaking. Numbers will be posted after that...

Man, I have to take you for a ride. After the tuning, this thing is a f*cking beast. I'm hoping to get it on the dyno for an hour or two before the end of the week. I'm going to crank the boost up a couple more pounds and add some fuel. It's pushing about 18 psi now and spiking around 20.

Was the TT v6 or 1.8t? If its the 1.8T he can do all the same mods you can and they have the awd option.

It was an 07 or 08, so he had the 2.0t if it was turbo. I don't think it was a quattro though. I love the quattro's...

I'd like to see what your car runs in the 1/4 mile. The only MKIV I've raced was a GLI with cai, 3" dp, GIAC X+ 93 reflash, t.i.p. & the APR R1 dv. His car had a best of 14.4 @ 100mph. He now has a 3" tbe but hasn't been back to the track yet.

You did start before him, and it seems he stayed in the same spot during the run. If you would have started even with him, you would've been even at the end.

Actually we left at about the same time, but he was trying to race. I left the line very gently until I heard him hit boost and break his tires loose....

Regardless, With my tuning I should now have an extra 40-ish hp and 70-ish tq at the wheels. I'll have numbers soon.

As far as the track goes... we'll see. My times would suck with my current tires, so I need to take care of that first.

Man this makes me want to get into my STI and go see if any body will mess with me . But they will not :mad::mad::mad:, I wonder why Muahaahahah :vit:

Nobody will mess with my speed 3, its starting to aggravate me. Car has a heavy sleeper factor, but i guess people see the speed badge and hear the 16lbs of boost and get scared :)

Our 96 Sable makes people scared. I wonder why they wont mess with me.
