Well, i'll put pics up later, but i got rear ended by a concrete pumping truck today. Bumper, both tails and trunk are all fucked. If there's frame damage i won't be surprised if they total it.

He didn't have a scratch on his truck obviously.

Massively bummed right now. :(

ya, from the pic it doesnt look that bad, but with how crazy expensive body work is today and if the frame is even slightly bent it could (hopefully) be totaled. I really hope u didnt actually get hurt man!

If they don't total it, wingless trunks are cheaper so i'll just have them slap one of those bad boys on.

Here's the problem i see though. This paint can't be matched. It's gold flake, Java Black Pearl. So if the trunks/bumpers don't come pre painted to match my vin, i'm gonna demand the whole car gets repainted so it all matches. That tacks on $3k minimum to the cost of the rebuild. I personally think the damage is in the $4k range w/o the paint job. If the paint were thrown in there, the ins company would probably total it.

just keep in mind, the car can be fixed (or totalled out) for a lot less than it will take for you to get healthy.

good luck...i'm fighting State Farm right now tooth and nail to get my whole car repainted because i have a custom House of Kolors black with ice blue pearl in the clear that can NOT be matched...they still just want to repaint the door and fender. it's been 2 months, and the scratches are going to start rusting before i get anywhere with them on it.

Well, just got back from the doctor. Xray's looked fine but he said there was a lot of spasming going on in my neck so i got a doctors note to stay home Monday and Tuesday. Got a prescription for a fixer, a muscle relaxer and vicadin.

Oh and the pictures don't give it justice. Everything is bent. Granted the quarter panels aren't hurt, but the mounting for both tails and the trunk mount is bent. I don't think he did anything to the actual bumper though and i doubt the frame is bent. We'll see next week though.

Sorry to hear about the car Matt. Keep an eye on that neck. I was involved in a rear-end collision 2 summers ago (the lady reading a book while driving...) and my neck has been getting worse by the week. It's to the point where I can crack it (and I mean CRACK it where everyone in the room can hear it) once every 20 minutes, and it's painful.

Hope you're alright. The car is just a car. I don't know that I'd go back to a ZX2 though. As great of cars as they are, there is better out there.

Got the car back today. It looks really good and they re clear coated the rear quarter panels as well so it blends w/ the trunk and bumper. There's minor mismatches that i'm planning to have them look at and see what they can do.

The only major issue is the trunk. I almost have to stand on it to get it to close which i'm not happy about. Also when i pop it, it rockets up really fast and hits the top of it's travel pretty hard. We'll see what they say when i go back tomorrow. Overall, i'm pleased w/ how the paint looks and the minor mismatches are small issue. Could just be trunk alignment on one of them and bumper alignment on the other. I'll post pics later on.
