I'm at the point in my life where I need to settle down. It's time to get out of my parents house. I do not want to rent because that is simply loosing money. My moms friend is putting her house up for sail in a couple of years in it happens to be a duplex. I would be living in the main part and renting out the other. My original plan is to put away 300 a month for a down payment. I plan on paying off my student loan at around 300 a month and I have no other debts. I make a little over 1600 a month after taxes. Thats $1000 that I have for gas insurance and what ever else I choose to spend it on. Insurance is around 550 every 6 months. For two cars it shouldn't be that much more the way my insurance company works.

The 07 WRX Limited has 15,500 miles on it. No mods no accidents. Owner is getting rid of it due to back injury? They are looking for 20k.

Z runs fine......save up for now. Its not likeit hasnt seen winters before, you know? whats one more? Save all your money, dont buy any dumb little shit, see where you're at next year. bigger downpayment orsmaller loan you have to take out = smaller payments for a shorter period of time.

I don't want to join the 100+ mile club with the Z. Did you see under my car, it is much worse this year then it was last year and I washed it underneath regularly, like 3 times a month. I hate NY.

Well...how do you move out of your parents house if you don't get your own place? You don't want to rent, so there's only 1 option really, buying a house... The other options just leave you at your parents house still... Try to make the Z work for you for a little while longer as you get settled into a house, then consider getting a different car after that.

between houses sailing and money getting loose, your best bet is to stay with mom and save your money. With the income you mention, you will not be able to afford a house and a car payment unless you have a lot of money saved up. If you are planning on getting another car, pay for it in full with no payments. Maybe you should consider buying another ZX2 as your second car. This way you can share parts, helping you to save more money.

Why not? They're very reliable cars if you treat them right.

It looks as tho I have to go with the first option as that is the smarter way and I can't afford to have a limited amount of spending money. I just worry my car is going to rot out underneath or something.
