I heard from Zx2Fast I thought at one point that Quaife made a transmission for our car for a pretty price. Does anyone have any more info on that? I would like to purchase one. Thanks. Also, a price would be great

That's a real asshole thing to say man. For your information, and everyone elses, I work my ass off to make the money I do. My parents don't pay for ANYTHING. At all. My college is being paid for by myself, 100%.

My car? EVERYTHING on my car except for my clutch, which I got for Christmas, was 100% paid for by me. Ask DOUGIESTYL or ZX2fast, they know. I pay for it all myself.

And as far as how deep my pockets are, I have invested my money properly, already, so that I do have enough to buy the trans if it is around 3k.

So, does anyone actually have any relevant information?

Ignore it, mommy and daddy are buying him a lotus so he can't say much.

As for the trans I'm not entirely sure. I do know what we can use the clutch and flywheel from a 1.8 liter zetec from Europe and apparently the gearsets can be swapped after. I guess we have more tranny options than we really knew. Yellow2000s/r can let you in on that though, while he was busy telling me about it I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at zetec carb kits. lol

Sweet, if that's true, I'll just do the MTX-75.

Capital- If that's also true, I'll ask him about it. I could do custom axles, LSD, and a new gearset for probably close to 2k. Sounds good to me.

Any more info is appreciated.

I remember it being 16k. The only people that can tell you how much it cost and if they still make it is Quafie.

it was around 16000 .. it was a sequential trans.. and NO its NOT a direct bolt u;.. it still needed mods.. axles.. mtg... and much much more.. its one they use in a lot of things.. just tweak it for custom mtg and fab.. its the one that was in the esslinger zx2 ... jason alverez's ol car..

Bah, I went ahead and bought one. Came to $16915.19 shipped. I figure, I will spend that much eventually replacing trans. Why not just do it in one shot and quit worrying about it. Thanks for the help guys, now for axles and such...I'll let you know how it goes.

the part about the esslinger zx2 is totally not true. the essy zx2 had an MTX75 trans with a quaife diff.
well, at least in their first version of the car.

I wonder what the HP rating on that thing is? For that price it had better be infinite!
