That plug goes into the A/C canister right below your hand. If your ZX2 doesn't have A/C, you still have the same wiring harness as all the other ZX2s do.

My ZX2 has no foglights, but the foglight bulb pigtails are still present. I just have the non-foglight headlight switch/stalk.

we have several connector ends on our cars that don't go to anything. i think parts of our harness come from the other escorts....like the plug i found near the back of the car that goes to the rear window wiper motor. makes me think maybe the harness could also work for an escort wagon with a rear wiper motor.

My guess is that FoMoCo used a similar harness for all Escorts for cost-cutting measures [just like the trannys!].
