Disable governor

I HATE to ask this... but i dont see the old thread.. cause its gone, buthow do you disable the speed governor?

u don't have an s/r do u? cuz if so, it's already disabled.

But here's wut I know. Take out the center consol. Then u will see a bunch of wires running to ur PCM. Take off the cover and find, IIRC, the black wire w/ white. Cut that. You can either run a switch off of it to control it. Or just wrap it w/ electrical tape and put everything back together. I know for sure that the second way gives u a CEL. IDK bout the switch tho.

If anyone else has more info, or if I'm wrong, please correct me.

Pretty sure its white with black stripe, and iirc it only works on manuals....

ya don't quote me on the color. I may be wrong. But I'm like 90% sure it's either black w/ white or white w/ black. Wut's teh red wire do, Vit? I'm assuming it runs ur car or sumin... possibly power to the PCM?

You want a switch on that wire. Only use it when you need to. You can have anomalies and a code thrown otherwise. The switch is normally on, and you switch it to an open circuit for high speed endeavors. White with a black tracer.

So you want to disable your speed limit (AKA Governor)? Pictures coming up soon. Here ya go guys!! Remove your dual cup-holders and locate the wiring harness beneath them. Remove the hard plastic piece and Cut the black plastic tap/wrap surrounding the wires. Carefully find the White Wire With The BLACK Stripe. Nearby is a white wire with a green stripe... make sure that's not it Cut the White Wire With The BLACK Stripe. All done!
I added a toggle switch to my governor. For about 3 dollars, you can go to radio shack and buy a small switch. Connect one side of the governor wire to the center terminal, and one to whichever side you want. Drill a small hole in your center console, and mount the switch, I also had to buy a small reel of hook-up wire to lengthen the governor wire.

Your car should have a check engine light pop up after a couple days(roughly 50 miles) This is normal, don't worry. The switch I use makes it so that my light doesn't come on for the governor unless switch is on off for a long period of time(roughly 50 miles). To reset you computer/ get rid of cel, unplug batterie terminals and then plug them back in. If you choose to disable your governor, please be responsible with it.
