Tuning a zx2 would be the same as tuning a Focus SVT (for turbo)?? im wondering about the VCT.
thanks

Well, the VCT on the zx2 is on the exhaust side
The Foci SVT is on the intake side...
So tuning would be different. The same rules apply for any car that you are tuning, the basics are going to be the same, but the SVT VCT is different than the zx2's systems.

The math that goes into the enacting the VCT is quite different (completely).
I am currently working on a standalone box that lets you easily convert to the SVT head. The SVT head is very different. The springs are respectively 17% and 24% stiffer, the intake ports at 1.65" and mildly ported. The cams are WAY different, looking at zx2 cams and SVT side by side you can literally see how much bigger the lobes are.
So no, tuning it would not be the same.
But, in the face of tuning, it would essentially be the same yes, because you could theoretically have all the good stuff to make your engine like the SVT engine (minus VCT).
The SVT is basically a factory tuned Zetec with all the goodies.
Theres a JBA dyno here in San Diego and i doubt they have ever tune a zx2 for turbo, so i was hoping that tunning a focus svt would help with some experience.

Sorry I seem to have misinterpreted the question a little bit.
If they have dynoed a SVT I would say they should be good, as long as they have some familiarity with our engines.
Just make sure they have a good name for themselves.
