S/R info..

well just a couple months ago i bought a '00 s/r..
so ive been doing some research, wanting to find out as much as i can
about the car.. anyways i was reading an article from '99 about them.
and its talking about the performance upgrades that were included.
well at one point in the article it says.. All performance parts on the S/R are tuned to compliment each other... then it says.
"other and additional racing-only components are available."
does anyone know what extra upgrades were available???

Most of those "racing parts" have been discontinued. There a still things you can do to improve performance. Most of the things done to a normal ZX2 will work on the SR.
The SR just puts you a step ahead with heavy duty parts, better suspension etc. better ECM, rear disc brakes and so on.

The S/R's are now 8 to 9 years old. There is getting to be fewer and fewer of them as time goes by. Please save all the original parts so that you can go back to an original stock S/R. Someday someone will be willing to pay more for an original stock S/R.

btw, cone cerned is right, save your parts so when it comes time to sell it, whether it is tomorrow or 10 years from now. The parts will definitely add to the value.

CC, you know, I have thought of that. My SR is 8 yrs old and one of 500 (Red). Maybe that is why I have saved most of the parts I have replaced.
I got sideswiped last spring, no serious damage. The body shop guy, when I asked him to fix a couple other dents as well, asked me why bother on an 8 yr old car. I just looked at him and smiled and said ,"Just do it".
