My flexpipe has seen better days and is beginning to annoy me with the leaks...I got quoted from advance for under 100 buck for a new flexpipe section with the resonator, but is there a better alternative?

I have a borla muffler so I don't want to purchase a full exhaust setup because I love the way the borla sounds...is there a better alternative for the middle section of the exhaust instead of putting oem stuff back on? I def want to have some kind of flexpipe on there so I don't run into header cracking problems...

Can you just buy the flexpipe. Cost me 60 dollars for a 2.25 inch flex pipe.

would replacing the resonator with a straight pipe make the borla sound like ass?

I would not take a chance.
You are going to want a resonator on there.
Maybe not for certain days, but after a few eeks, or when you are cruising, you will be very thankful you put it on. Don't worry about any power loss, unless you get some ridiculous POS resonator.
Muffler shops often can put in universal replacements for reasonable money.
