i watched a lot of the DNC, and a few hours today of the RNC. the DNC had plenty of speeches about Obama's past, Biden's past, etc...and lots of topics that were not focused toward issues at hand. yet all the reporters could say was how historic it was, and we were living history, and uniting the country, and chaging things, etc. but the coverage of the RNC is totally biassed. not like i didn't see it coming. CNN and MSNBC were the channels i was watching..so no surprise they wouldn't be as positive as they were with the DNC coverage. but it's just sickening to hear them bring out personal attacks on Palin's parenting. especially after Obama told the press they should leave family out of it..what do they do....drag out the family stuff. all they were taling about after Thompson's speech was how it lacked any issues at hand, and was basically a biography of McCain. what's wrong with that? i don't get how it could be that biassed and people could still take it seriously.

All the coverage of the DNC and of the RNC was or is biased. That shouldn't surprise anyone.

i completely understand...i expected it to be biased. but to the degree of noticability it is...it's just frustrating. you figured they'd be a little more discreet. heck, there are clips on the internet now of several reporters mispronouncing her name as "failin'" instead of Palin. cheap shot a plenty.

No offense, but it sounds like you're biased towards Republicans.
Regarding "Failin" instead of "Palin", that's nothing compared to "Obama=Osama" and the whole "Hussein" media talk.
Most TV media I've seen so far (CNN/Fox I guess) has been very critical of the Obama campaign, and very lenient towards McCain. Do you guys have any un-biased media? Up north we have CBC, which are pretty unbiased...but they need to be since they're funded by the government.

For every liberally biased media outlet there are just as many conservative outlets. Look at the NRA, much of AM talk radio, and Fox (or at OReily).
If you want as little bias as possible your best getting your news of American politics from say...BBC or another foriegn news agency.
Personally I think hearing what the rest of the world thinks about our Presidents and candidates is refreshing, because the could care less about the personal lives of those candidates.

AMEN to that!!!
i <3 the BBC. they really are the most objective source of news coverage you can find in regards to not only the election, but world events in general.

Someone who was watching ABC told me they didn't cover the President's speech. He missed it while his wife was in another room watching it on Fox.
You can't defend that kind of horrible coverage.

Actually a drunken Ted Kennedy was the first to call Obama, Osama. :D

Lieberman was outstanding. A superb individual, who had to switch from being a Democrat to being an independent because of his intelligence.
But he bent over backwards to say that Obama was eloquent and had a bright future. Just at this point in time, he does not have the track record [143 days in the Senate - big deal!] or experience yet.
Lieberman was very gracious , and very correct.
A couple of things about Obama that won't go away is that our enemies want him in office, and -- his WIFE!

I tought that the Democrats were the party of 'acceptance' and 'tolerance'...the same that said it was no big thing for WJC to get blowjobs by an intern in the oval office. Riiiiiight. If it was Biden's teenage daughter who got knocked-up out of weblock I suspect that the coverage would be much more subdued. Pretty two-faced IMO.
I was very moved by Fred Thomson's biographical on McCain...puts some perspctive on what the man went through and speaks volums on his character. Lieberman was also very convincing and I think will go a long way at derailing BHO by showing his lack of qualification at this point in time. I suspct that he will have a great influnce on the Jewish vote, which historically has been largeley democratic--this will be HUGE in Florida.
