You mean you checked the rear anti-sway bar and links? Also, how are your rear struts and springs?

Sounds like something you'd hear on a NASCAR radio to the pits. :D
I've never experienced this.
First of all, did you check the lugs on the rears?
Describe the noise.

See if you can get a free inspection at a repair shop.
It's worth paying for it, BTW.

yep, take it to firestone or the equivalant and have them put it up on the lift. could be a number of things, just pray that the tires dont fall off on the way there....j/k

Condition of the tires and pressures can cause that. As everyone says, get it checked.

thanks guys i checked the tires and the lug nuts and they all seem fine ..i checked the rear sway bar and i think that the screws that hold them on are going becouse the rubber inserts that go between them and the car are almost gone .should i replace them or just get the whole sway bar from the escort wagon

If you got the money and time get the wagon bar and the poly bushings. You will be happy with it. A good idea if you can at that point would be to upgrade the front bushings to poly as well.

I was getting a really annoying and scary sounding rattling coming from the back of my car when I made turns a while back. Made the car rattle a bit and it sounded like something was gonna fall off. It got worse as things went. Turns out that my rear driver-side tire was warped.. Belt broke or something. Took me forever to check the tire for a problem instead of the drums and lord knows whatever else I could check. Thank God I decided to check daily for problems though. The tire eventually vibrated the wheel to the point where the lugs came loose and I was able to unscrew them with my fingers. Freaked out, took the wheel off and the screws fell out that hold the drum on. Needless to say I went out and bought 4 new tires the next day. Haven't had the problem since. =)

A few months ago I was on a road trip in the s13 I had (clutch went, so the car went) and I had been getting some pretty bad vibration through the whole car for a week or two. Suddenly, about 150 miles from nowhere the vibration got REAL bad, and then my front left blew out. Pulled over, got the donut on, and made it to a tire shop and got two replacements. Low and behold, the problem instantly ceased.
