Wanting to get a short shifter, but don't have the money for the TWM right now. Has anyone tried the $30 ebay one. Thought i'd try it to get me through this season of AutoX, but wanted to know if would just be wasting my money or not.

Sorry for the newbness of my question, i know there was info on shifters on the old site... but that doesn't help me now.
It's the same as the B&M with lesser quality materials.
I know a few people who have ran them

Hmm... might have to try that one then. Any suggestions on whether or not i should get bushings at the same time?

pile the cash instead of piling trash IMO.

Get the bushings. This helps with precision and feel even with a stock shifter.

without the bushings, you'll get a lot of side to side slop...even when you are in gear. before i put the bushings in, i would wiggle the shifter side to side...it's what i do to make sure i'm in neutral. well..i wiggled it one time, and it was still in gear..killed the car at a stoplight :wiggle:

yea, capris are notoriously horrible for developing this problem... if someone outbids me on a headunit i don't really want, i'll get one of those short shifters and get some bushings

Yeah, i'm gonna have to get one. I REALLY want the TWM, but my budget doesn't allow it right now. I've got too many other things i want. Haha

Just picked up the ebayer... not sure if i'll like it, but with the bushings it was 50ish. Worse case... i don't like it and i'm out 30 bucks.

I did the same. I ordered mine yesterday and i already got a message from either then bushings or the short throw shifter people about shipping! i can't wait, i like new toys! Plus i think my bushings and shifter sucks anyway.

I know my bushings are pretty sloppy, so this should help. Can't wait to get rid of that dumb truck shifter. It looks huge with the center console out, haha

Don't forget that you can cut and bend the stock shifter. Retap or glue another knob on.
Get a different boot.
With new bushings, there is not much difference.
It's just a stick.
