what parts are you talking about... everyone who has one loves there header. only complaint being that its made for there exhaust . NOT a stock exhaust... wont bolt up to a stock or truebends exhaust .. head package is good.. kinda high..but good.. john p does em cheaper.. but .. then again.. they were the only ones doing heads YEARS ago when the zx2 was young.. . as for the turbo kit.. they are the ONLY company who made a kit for the zx2 .. some make parts kits and homemade kits.. but they are the only ones makeing a kit.. some think its crap.. could it be better .YEAH.. but .. if you know what your getting and tweak it a lil .. its ok... could you make your own better kit for less.. probobly .. depending on who skilled with fabrication you are.. there kit isnt GREAT.. i have one.. it works fine.. but if i ever get a wild hair.. ill upgrade and fab my own setup .. but.. its fine for me for now..

The biggest complaint I heard was with their throttle body. It supposedly stuck sometimes. The turbo kit has an insufficient waste gate, so the boost creeps up. This can destroy an engine pretty easily.

So basically if you change the wastegate its not that bad of a setup?

The wastegate is the only real issue I have with the Gude kit. Aside from that it is a decent kit. Maybe a bit overpriced, though.
They aren't the only ones that made a full kit for the ZX2. Focus-power used to make one but wanted so much for it only a few people bought one. Many of those people couldn't get the car to run right afterwards since his tuning really sucked.

If you find an easy way to change out an internal wastegate, I'd like to shake your hand.

the wastegate is a lil problem.. most times its because there was insufficient room for the flapper to open all the way.. mine contacted the housing before it was all the way open.. had to grind a lil to gain the clearance... no problems on mine now..
been like that over 2 years

I was going to say, I know on my rx7 I'm going to have to port the wastegate or I'll have some pretty bad boost creep. Is this not an option with gude or can you not take enough out of it?

Most people weld it shut and use an external.

Most people weld it shut and use an external.
If you do that, you might as well not get the kit, since having an internal wastegate isn't very optimal for flow. If you aren't even going to use it, why bother with the turbo in the first place?

How about just sell the turbo and grab another and external wastegate?

I inquired to Gude one day about one of their products. They gave me a response that made no sense and looked like a fourth grader typed it. Needless to say I bought nothing from them.
One member had everything Gude... like, EVERYTHING. Head, cams, etc. It came out with a flaming 138 whp. Okay, it will get you down the road, but considering I had 136 whp with intake, header, exhaust, and superchip, you have to doubt the power claims they make.
2 opinions, worth approximately 2 cent.

Was it on a Mustang or DynoJet? 138 on a Mustang wouldn't be too bad.

I don't know. He's still around, I don't know his name but he's someone that posts often. Maybe he can tell you.

SeriousZX2 had a full Gude head package: Gude exhaust, Gude cams, Gude TB, Gude head, Gude Header, and he made over 160whp.
I would know, it is in my garage :]
