Newbie to these boards.

Hi, I'm new to the boards here and thought I'd post my first thread here. I currently drive a 2000 s/r. I had a 1998 zx2 previously. They're good cars. I hope that this forum is as helpful and entertaining as some of the other forums I've been too.

Welcome. We're going through a bit of reconstruction currently. We completely lost all our information last week, and this new site is being rebuilt from the ground up. We have alot of good info, and it's slowly getting posted again.

Yeah, our hard drive or something crashed, so everything was lost. Shoot, I'm a moderator, and I only have like 63 posts, lol. Technically I have over 10,000 posts, but they're all lost :mad:

Not bad, I was looking at getting a 600 last summer but I sat on it and I had to practically stretch to reach the bars. I hate being 5'7 lol. The other day I sat on a cbr1000 and it was a bit more comfortable because I didn't have to lean so damn far over lol. I still want a gixxer though. :angry: I have to wait till I move out of the house anyways. ugh

What year gixxer's were you looking at? There's way too many topics and questions when discussing motorcycles. Your size shouldn't be a problem, especially once you get used to riding. Hell, I'm only 5'5.

Stay away from those one liter sportbikes. Any sportbike for that matter is an un-godly quick bike. You'll hear so many people say this and say that about bike choice, especially your first bike. It's all really in what the rider wants and how they plan on riding it and if they're mature/safe enough of a rider.

The newer gixxer 600's as in (06'-08's), sit lower than the previous years. Just a little fyi.
