I just picked my wife up from work in the S/R with my two youngest monsters in the back. On the way home came to a red light next to a newer Sunfire (with a Jeff Gordon sticker in the rear window). The way the line is set up my door is next to his front bumper. Just having a normal conversation with my wife when the light turns green. I go like normal and I hear the ill fated sound of a Sunfire engine winding out the first gear of their automatic transmission.

I am in a dilemma. I want to teach this nascar fan that sunfire < ZX2 (modded S/R none the less), but I have half my half my family in the car and traffic is a bit busy. So I wisely chose to restrain (the obvious but hard decision to make). Instead I would just wind out to 4k only pushing the throttle half way. Passed him. Eased back and held with him (with his engine still "roaring" in attempt to overcome), and then stopped at the speed limit (45) when he finally pulled ahead. My wife knew I wanted to rip into him. She then said "He so lost. Jeez. It's a Sunfire. Pssshh."

Felt good to know that I could have absolutely demolished him, but part of me is irked because there is a Sunflower driver out there who is all like "I just beat that little Escort who thought his muffler would make him fast!" Little does he know.....

That sucks.... Luckily I don't have any one that would really be with me, except my friend... so he would be yelling at me to destroy the sunflower.

That's why you either go all the way, or don't go at all.

Well I would hope he would get the hint when he doesn't hear me go all out and he still can't beat me, that he is completely out ranked. Oh well.

Hahaha poor little Sunflower. It's funny, because you had 4 people in yours, and only went half throttle. He should be so glad you didn't unleash the beast.

My wife has an ATX Sunfire.

You can't get much slower than that. OK, maybe a Civic. :D

Well more like 2.5 people since the kids only add up to half the weight of one adult (if that). I guess the sub helps with that too though.

Well, in all seriousness, you made the right decision in playing it safe with your family. No sense putting all your lives' at risk.

That's what it really boils down to right there.
