ZX2 vs 06 civic SI

So I raced my buddies Si today after we got out of work. The first race I got a decent launch with little wheel spin and he spun threw 1st. He caught up to me at the end of 2nd then he proceeded to walk me. The second run we both got good launches and I was half a car length ahead at the end of 1st and by end of 2nd I was at his rear bumper. I wasn't paying attention or distance but If I where to guess in the 1/4 mile he had 2 cars on me. I'm not to disappointed with this outcome.

My mods are powder udp, alt odp, knocker mod, fiddy flywheel and spec stage 2 clutch, adjustable cam gear on intake side at -4*, partially caminized iceman, 15" motegi traklite 2.0's with yokohama S-Drive tires.

His mods are intake and 2.5" catback exhaust.

MSRP on the Si is about $21k, not $24k. Some ZX2's went for about $13k, but I'm sure more went for higher. Every option comes on the Si, moonroof, A/C, etc, you can't choose any options. Who cares about price anyway, you get what you pay for.

Good race, didn't you post this on the old board before it got trashed? :) My stock Si is a nice bit faster than my ZX2 which had intake/diablo chip/pulley.

I raced him once before when I was completely stock except for clutch and flywheel. But I also needed to bleed my clutch and grinded 2nd at high rpm when shifting fast. I did post it on ere in this section, that was in the fall. No problems with shifting and some power mods helped me keep up with him yesterday. Before he just left me in second.

nothing performance just an ebay intake, mostly for looks right now, since i have to get my autotragic tranny overhauled. its about to go in the next week or two, but if i drive it like a old lady i could get a couple months out of it.

So whats the point of racing? You need to do the atx to mtx swap. It will be well worth the gains and you will see more power out of an mtx. The atx kills you when it comes to power.

if you are so worried about your tranny you shouldn't be racing, then again I was racing with mine when the synchros were going and I was getting a heavy grind in 2nd and 3rd while in race mode lol.

I have raced mtx zx2's back in my old zx2 and left them in the dust and crying and they had mods so I can imagine how that race would go. Not pretty.

You and me both. The one advantage you have over me is I can't launch good half the time lol. It is usually tires spinning or bogging down, mostly bogging down because I hate drag launching.
