Coming home from college tonight...drunk driver rear ended me at 55 while i was stopped at a light.

Another S/R gone. My head is killing me.

hope you are OK man! dan's s/r got rear ended by a drunk driver this summer, too...bumper was pushed into the backseat. luckily it was parked and he was in his house.

hope you feel alright and no bodily damage is done! and i hate to be the one to ask...but do you have pics of the carnage?

i'll try to get some tomorrow...same deal as dan's s/r, everything is pushed into the rear wheels, couldn't even move it off the road.

Man I loved that car...at least I'll have the badass memories of her

Sucks man...but don't forget, I do have a black s/r in Columbus, OH for probably close to the cost that you will get back. 68k miles, power everything, sunroof, cross drilled rotors, all new fluids and such.

a stock (totally bone stock..NOTHING done to it) black s/r is on the top of my list of things to buy when i get more disposable income....it'll be a to-the-letter rule following STS project for autoX.

at least you didn't end up in the hospital!!!

Lucky you're OK! I reamed some old bitch's ass at the next red light, cause she bout smaashed in the side of my SR yesterday! I swerved hard into the next lane to avoid damage.
Do you have CWQ3? I am mosdef interested in parts for my SR (ww kit, pnp head) I may take the X3 off your hands, too.

I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt. ZX2's seem to hold up well during rear impacts.

I'm selling my S/R for $2500 for a limited time. Its in the vehicles for sale forum.

It will cost 8k to fix her. She is officially totaled. They haven't given me a price to buy her back yet, but when I get that I'll decide if its worth buying and parting out.

Hope you're feeling OK. It always hurts worse a day or two AFTER the wreck. I was in a wreck where I didn't need medical attention at the scene but ended up going to the hospital the day after for chest pains.

Man....painful to look @.....sucks, but I too, am glad you are alright.....I got rear-ended a couple of years ago in my Mustang, and went to jail because the guy was drunk, and I was so pissed that I beat him down....got out, and he decided not to press charges.....but, make sure you move around alot, and ANY funny feelings you get in your neck/back need to go into the court case against him......just for that extra STAB....

how much to buy back? that would be a nice rebuild project. it could be fixed for way less then 8k if u do it yourself. it would be so worth it being rebuilt it wouldnt be hard wither unless the sub frame and shit for the rear tires are bad.

hey, a little wax and polish and after a good buffing i think it will be hardly noticeable. On a serious note im glad you're ok and i would definitely do what someone else said, beat the fenders out so you can drive it, then remove the bumper and trunk, tie it to a tree and pull it out. i would work on the body myself (what do you have to lose??) and find a new bumper and trunk. How bad is the suspension messed up?

It's 1 of 500 in the world! It is a collectors item in every sense of automotive nostalgia. It's one of the biggest reasons why I bought mine.
I'm sure there's a bit of emotional attachment as well.

$8000 to rebuild it ?? At that cost, I've got a black '00 S/R with 39K miles I could sell you for $6200 and save you $1800.

Seriously, hanging onto a car you like may be worth it if you can do the repairs economically makes sense. Don't put $7-8K into a car that will wind up with a salvage/rebuilt title and be worth a fraction of what you invested.

As someone suggested, if you have the time, start with a nice rust free shell.

dude its just an escort lol, glad the op is ok the s/r isn't a collectors item to any serious collector nice car for a ford enthusiast but that's about it id say its a collector item to a zx2 but but that's about it,.

All I know is, if someone smashes into my SR, they WILL have life-threatening injuries as a result. No matter how bad the damage!
I'm very happy that kln didn't get F'ed-up, but it's still a shame that another SR is lost. It's evident that it's a SPECIAL Escort by the OP title...
I agree that human life (some cases) is more important than a car. I think it's ironic that all you hard-core ZXTuners aren't in more agreement with me about the SR.

it's a few mods that people usually change out for better ones anyway...and a VIN...not that special :shrug: it's just a trim model. so if they only made 500 "cool" zx2's in 98 it'd be a sought after collector item? with 14" hub caps, no spoiler, etc?
