Second problem thread "ever"! Posted this in that one day the forums were up, never got a chance to check for responses.

Anyways, the gist of my problem is : I've removed everything I needed to in order to get the powersteering pump off apart from three things. Three very annoying things.

1) High pressure hose underneath the pump. I can't fit a regular crescent wrench there. Can't get a socket wrench on obviously because there's a pipe going through the nut. Can't really fit vicegrips in there. What the hell am I supposed to do to get it off? I'd rather not cut through it, though i don't think i could fit any cutting tools in there anyway.

2 & 3 ) The two bolts on the bottom of the PS pump. Those were hard enough to get off on top :(. I can't get to them because of the high pressure hose for now, but if I manage to get it off, I'm not sure how the hell i'm going to get those screws out.

Here's a picture of the high pressure hose/nut so yo ucan see what I'm talking about, courtesy of cyberman on myzx2.com:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The pump itself isn't working so I have no qualms about further damaging it, but I want to keep the hoses in tact so i can reuse them.

The nuts on the hoses are an 18mm. For where the hoses come together at the top- I used pliers on one of the hoses, and an 18mm on the other, took awhile, but they came apart. Where it connects on the bottom- I could NOT get it loose. Used an 18mm crow foot to try to get it- nope. Eventually I just destroyed it. The bottom bolt on the right (not behind the hose) can be reached from the top with a ratchet. The bolt that is behind the hose has to be loosened with a wrench if you don't destroy the hose. Loosen it a little, wiggle the pump and slide it forward- keep repeating that until you get it out. I would honestly recommend just taking a big screwdriver and wedging the hose out of the way and getting a new one. I tried getting the hose off once the pump was out of the car, and still couldn't get it loose.

alot of times (as I have told Larka before) if you undo the hose at the coupler, take out the 10mm bolts, the last one you have to use a wrench from underneath and remove the tensioner, then the whole pump comes off and you can get a wrench on the fitting, the best way is to use a crows foot.

You don't really have to take the tensioner off if you're okay with using a wrench on the last bolt rather than a ratchet. And my biggest issue was no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the hose to come off the bottom of the power steering pump. I just got a new hose with the new pump.

And a question for you TSmiley since this has bugged me since I had to do this and you offered advice- How did you get the tensioner assembly out without moving the power steering pump first? The high pressure hose is also in the way of the top bolt on the tensioner assembly. Kind of curious.
