so i need some help... i brok a stud that the lug nuts clamp on too... well u have to take the hub off to put a new one in no big deal take the caliper off take the rotor off then u have a nice big 1.25" nut u have to break loose...no problems right. WRONG josh dank and i were tryting to break it loose and it wouldn't budge i stood on a breaker bar attached to a lugnut and te was jumbing on the 1.25 nut and it stil didn't break. and my impact wrench cant o the job. how do u get this beast off is there a trick to it??? i was thinking of using the "breaker bar method" just put a breaker bar to the nut and the start the car put it in first spin the wheel until it breaks??? i gotta quote from a local shop and they wanted 60 bux...and they tryed o describe how hard it is to take off the caliper and the rotor and i looked a em and said your going to charge me 30 dollars per each bolt u take out??? and they told me labor is labor. any ideas or suggestions would be great

put the wheel back on position breaker bar on ground "push" vehicle the direction it needs to go to loosen it... if that doesnt work get a big lead water pipe and put it on the end of the breaker bar while applying the brakes to keep it from turning

You got the little bent place on the nut pushed out right? After doing that I've never had a problem on the rear disc setups I've done, and I've done 2 sets

you have to unstake the hub nut to be able to remove it.

^ that's the proper terminology. There's a little slot cut into the spindle, and the lip of the nut is knocked into it, after you take a chisel or screwdriver and knock the dented piece out, it's easy with airtools

...so i hit the little tab out with a screw driver and used the impact wrench and nothing doing... so i used some screwloose to break the bond gave it 10 minutes and still nothing. so i went to the torch and let the torch hit it for 5-10 minutes and tryed again and still nothing...i gotta be missing something.

take the wheel off, Knock the old stud out, cut it with a cutoff wheel / die grinder, take the new one, and grind one side flat almost even with the edge of the stud shaft, insert new stud, using a washer and flat nut suck it up tight,, end of story,

with the length of the stud i dont think i could put the neew one in... i can def get the old one out by cutting it. but even if i ground it down on one side i think length would be a problem.

I have done it a few times, you can get it in most of the way without cutting the base of it, it doesnt have clearance to go all the way in without cutting the base or removing the hub

I used a six feet long pipe over a 36 inch breaker bar. (Someone said that if you have a long enough lever, you can move the world.) I used the staking marks to make sure I had the nuts tight enough when I reassembled the car. I put longer studs in the front to accommodate quarter inch spacers.

Make sure you are loosening, not tightening.
Go counterclockwise.
Penetrating oil for 1/2 hour after unstaking the nut. Air tools will get it off. Turn the compressor up high, and make sure the gun's adjustment is all the way up.
A big breaker bar with an extension is a tried and true method. A sharp quick mash of the foot on an extension will get her off.
