Was trolling around ebay last night and noticed quite a few reasonably priced cold air intakes for the zx2. Talking about around $70 shipped. I think they advertise 3" piping for the most part, i'm not even sure how large our stock one is.
Anyways, are these any good for the money? Or should I just stick with doing a keman intake mod?
There are two types of ebay intakes. One is horrible. The other is decent. The 3" one is the good one. The sharp bends and 2.5" piping one is crap.

Well, was thinking about this one in particular:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170210636683&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123
It LOOKS pretty good, but how does it sound, any noticeable performance gain?

I would say yes, when you compare them to the similar ones that were in the intake shootout that was on zx2racing.com, which happens to no longer exist.

I got the exact same intake, and love it, has a really nice aggressive sound over 3000 rpm. I would swap the cheapo filter out for a K and N when you get it tho

Intake is a intake IMO.
Only differences you can make are where the MAF is located and type of filter. Obviosuly some will be better then others due to those 2 variations.

Intake is a intake IMO.
Then I think this summer I'll make my own, I have access to a... mandrel I think it's called, for $10/hr. We'll see what happens.
probably won't be worth the effort, but meh

That wouldn't be a bad intake. I wouldn't put the bend on right before the filter though. They are pretty much useless.
