I don't think anyone is going to charge me $80 for a couple pieces of pvc.
Thanks though.....

I can send you the whole intake with a K&N filter. Make me an offer. It'll be about a week until my MMI gets in.

If you want one that loses power over the Keman, sure. But then you'll be searching for the parts it doesn't come with.

Really only need the keman parts, my stock one is perfectly fine-- and shipping a whole intake here will probably be pretty expensive

DO NOT ADD THE STUPID DRAIN PIPE
LET ME SEND YOU THE PICTURE OF MINE
ill send you the piece of pvc pipe and the couping im in plumbing so i made it so there is no air traped in the upper resonator.... trust me with this one take where your airfilter goes and cut every peice of plastic off except wear the two bolts go on the bottom no plattic on top except the clamp ill send a picture doing it that way and a k&n filter makes such a nice deep sound its all you can here no engine noise just intake i get so many compliments about how it looks like a real intake. PROMISE YOU WONT DO THE DRAIN PIPE LOL.. ill send you the peice for the upper resinator already painted black to match for shipping only

DO NOT ADD THE STUPID DRAIN PIPE
I couldn't agree more, I used a 4" to 3" black PVC adaptor (Home Depot lawn & garden dept) and J.B.Weld, works great, and according to the information I've collected over the last 6 years this is the single best modification for improving fuel economy on a ZX2 (with the possible exception of Dyno Tuning). The upper air baffle change is more for looks than anything, and isn't necessary to see a sharp increase in fuel economy.

That is terrible advice. Whoever said it looks more like a real intake is a fool anyways. All you're doing now is sucking in hot air when you could be pulling in cold air.

I should have looked at the attached photo... do the mod the way Kemen did, but use a 4"to 3" black PVC drainage pipe connector glued inside the air filter housing instead of the rubber adapter hose clamped to the outside, only cut as much of the factory air-box as necessary to get the adapter to fit through the opening, and if you want to, use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the gasket in the fender wall to fit the adapter also, this will also help to ensure you are getting air from outside the engine compartment.

You use the Drain pipe so that it remains a CAI... that abomination with the K&N sticking out the end is still sucking up a LOT of hot engine air...

Here is what I'm suggesting it should look like...

Once you get moving the underhood temps drop to near ambient, so arguing either way is a moot point.

NEAR ambient. It also just plain looks like shit with that filter and half of an airbox.

Besides, if you had a problem like I did a couple of weeks ago you would end up pulling Tranny fluid into the intake after saturating the filter. I had the tranny fluid return hose "pop" off after a hose clamp broke at the transmission while I was driving at highway speeds. It coated the engine bay and the underside of the car in ATF.
