Going to my father's wedding in two weeks, and I need a new suit coat, Dad's Treat, Since I can't afford one, nor have I ever really shopped for on myself (last on I had I was 8 years old - Don't exactly fit in it anymore), I need help knowing what all this stuff means. For example Herringbone, etc. I also don't even know what size I need, I just know I need a size that Sears doesn't carry, cause their biggest one was pretty tight.

So guys, how do you shop for a suit? How can you tell it fits you properly? I'll be going to the Men's Wearhouse to get fitted and everything, I'd just like to have some idea before going to the store.

my advice is since its a RARE thing for you to wear a suit.. make sure youdont get one TO much into the latest fashion/styles.. get a timeless classic so that in the future ( if it still fits) it will be appropriate you want it to fit closely but not tight.. definatly not baggy/sloppy.
