View Full Version : Anybody Datalogged The TPS?

I've got a guy at work I was talking to today, and he used to be into Gran Prix's. He was saying how people could get some good power from a resistor that they put in the TPS housing. Basically, when you mashed the gas, it would only read 75% open, so you wouldn't be getting the max timing and everything. You put the resistor in there, and it reads full open, and you're good to go.

So has anybody done any datalogging on the throttle position sensor, and what it reads? If we could benefit from a stupid resistor, that would be cool...

I've datalogged mine. It showed 98-100% when I mashed it. I don't think a resistor would help our cars since it reads full throttle. Also, I believe our ECU treats anything >75% as full throttle.
Here's a graph:

Cool man, thanks for that. At least it reads what it should.

No problem. I've datalogged pretty much everything I could read through the OBD-II port. It makes some interesting graphs.

Bad idea.
