Interest in National Meet

In the shoutbox yesterday, we discussed the possibility of a National Meet in Memphis TN in May of 2009. I want to see what kind of interest there is in this before I spend much time planning an event or helping to plan an event that people wouldnt attend.

Im heavily involved in the SCCA locally and could schedule this around an autox or any other number of things.

That was pretty much my issue. It might work for me in the end if I stop by for a day on my way to Florida or something.

I think it should be centralized based on who says they will go... not just centralized based on the country. Cause TN is already like.... 7-9 hours away, but if we go across the Mississippi then I won't go... too far for that.

But some people are saying they won't go because of where it is. At least for this idea- more or less all of the people past the mid states (the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas) are going to say it's too far. We need to see who all would be interested in a "national" meet, and try to centralize it from there, or work out large regional meets.

Sorry. Too far for me. I drove 300 miles and only 3 ZX2s showed up before. :) Glad there was an autocross that weekend too otherwise that would've sucked.

I didn't drive 25min to Josh's meet. So TN is a no go. BTW, next year will be a def for josh's meet. Had to much going on this time.
