95 Escort Shifter

So... I was at the junkyard today, and they finally put the 98 zx2 out that I was waiting for so i could get the Valve Cover off of... and I was also toying with the idea of changing the shifter...

So I pulled an older escort shifter off of a 95 LX coupe... and with that double bent in it.. I actually think it works better than the stock one... any idea why they changed the bends in the shifter for the 98+ escorts?

probably due the configuration of the center console

no..it bends backward... with the 'newer' shifter my hand was coming into close contact with the console.. but with this one.. idk, more comfortable

haha.. well.. i just put in the boot... and i dont feel like taking it off today..making a trip to NY in the morn

I bent my stock shifter, and also my B+M to get it back further.
