short and sweet and would love some help on this one. i was driving yesterday, heard some flappin under the hood, pulled over, sepentine belt was falling apart, thought i could make it home, started the car back up, started to leave, car dies, tried to restart, car makes a winding sound when tryin to start, like the starter is not catchin. tow car home, replace belt, replace starter, same freakin thing, just a winding noise, the car will not do a steady turn over, if i hold a constant turn, it will wind, then semi turn, then do some more of this cool winding, but no starting. its not showing any codes or anything. 1998 zx2 and i have checked the timing belt, all good. if anybody can throw some info this way, i got a card for you on the next valentines day

Are you sure you didn't wind some of the old belt around one or more of the pullies?

sounds like the bendix is poping out... could have just been a coincidence all of this happening at once. especially if it is a re manned starter.

there is an access plate between the trnny and motor by the oil pan pop that off and look at the teeth on the flywheel.

Make sure your batt. is fully charged and pushin good amperage. I got alotta the same advice after I had fixed my timing and my batt. was reading 12v, but the cranking amps had died with time. take the batt. to AZ and tell em to slap that bad sumbish on the charger.
