Post if you have them, what brand you have, where you got it and the quality of the radio signal. Like to get one but would like to know if the radio signal goes down. Thanks

just paint the stock one in black... much better. I had the ebay shorty and didnt like it. It was bending when I was on the highway lol

the shorty I used had great signal though... but w/e I rarely use radio. Im still wondering if I will be shaving it off.
shortys look better than the stock antenna. Granted the radio signal is weak but again this isn't my daily driven car so i dont care.

anyone have ideas of getting better reception cause with the stock atenna i get shitty reception. I dont live out in the boonies there are towers less than 30 miles from my house, about 1000 feet from my house is one of the biggest towers in the area(news and cell phones) but i would think it would pull some sort of signal. I get crappy signal in some spots in my driveway
I have had success with cutting my antenna shorter. I had to because my wing caught it when I opened the trunk.

American Muscle.com has some really nice ones. 20 dollars for the 8"or 14" Black, 25 for the 8" or 14" crome and. I am going to be buying two black 14 inchers, for my mustang and the escort.

that looks good. i was thinking of using a roush stage 3 wing from a mustang. i wouldn't do it though how u have it, i don't like that gab i would prob mod somthing up so its back alil more. but thats only if i want to go back with a spoiler. i have a hidden Antenna. got it from a respectable audio shop and i pick stations up crystal clear even ones from Kentucky. i have it set up against the back of the glove box.

I've got a shorty from Ebay, took a slight hit on reception, but it's not too bad. I'm about 150 miles away from the radio station I listen to most so I'm used to average to poor reception.

I just went to auto zone, they have like 20 different kinds of antennas. I bought a small flexible one for like $10, lost a little bit of signal, and one extremely cold day It broke when I was taking the snow off my car. But auto zone replaced it.

Yeah, I've always said that these antennas make our cars look like we need a remote control, lol.
I have this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Black-Billet-14-inch-ANTENNA-Ford-Taurus-Escort-ZX2_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33639QQihZ008QQitem Z180272199343QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
I got poor reception when I was 250 km from my favorite statio, which the stock antenna still picked up. But within town theres no noticeable difference.

haven't panted it black yet.

I bought this one yesterday from Orielly Auto parts. $3.99! Honestly I haven't noticed but a tiny bit of signal loss. One radio station here has always had crappy reception depending on where you are. I can tell a little bit worse signal from it. The others in the city that came in good and strong before still do now! Can't beat it for under $4.50 after tax!

I had one of those rubber ones on my old Jetta (was on there when I bought it).
In the winter, it got some ice on it and bent down overnight. When it thawed, the antenna had a permanent bend. Looked like an unside-down U. It went in the trash.
Those antennas are horrible. They have bad reception too compared to a metal mast.
I don't like the way they look anyways, they are more obvious, so it negates the whole reason for having a short antenna. Makes your car look like a toy too.

*shrugs*
We'll see how it holds up. So far just the one station that already kinda sucked lost a little bit but nothing much. Even if it takes a dump I'm only out $5 on the deal. I rarely listen to the radio anyway, but I hated the huge ass stocker from day one..

I cut and rounded mine off (thinking about painting it and putting a radio control car antenna cap on it to make it look stock-ish, however; it looks just fine the way it is). I would say it stands about 8-12" tall now. Perfect radio reception too. I can get 88.7 in Detroit just as good as when it was long.
