and he was offering to make you any parts for free just to test out the machine, what would you have made? My buddy from work is currently building a custom 4-axis CNC machine. The table just got delivered today, and he already has 4 servos, the spindle, motor drives and controllers. He is going to make the column (or have it made) for it next week out of cast iron, then he can start to assemble it.
What should I get? :rocknana:

Let me know if it works and if he can offer teamzx2 services for making spark plug galley covers among other caps and stuff... he could be a valuable person and get some business if the prices are right :)

How about some front strut mounts that allow you to adjust camber. If you/he are really interested I could make some cad drawings based on the ones I have.

If he paid full retail for all the parts new, it would easily be a million dollar machine. He is also one of the few people that I actually trust has the knowledge to build something like this.. Just looking at the tolerances that he expects to have, and the work required makes my head spin. Hes even building a custom linux machine to run it all. Ill post more info as the build comes together..

oh god i could keep him busy for a long time. one thing high on the list is billet main caps.
our backshop at work is one of the finest in the nation. several cnc mils, lathes, cnc routers, cnc mandrel benders, cnc pressbrakes, bladder press, autoclave, heat treat equipment. all the things that make life worth living for! except were not allowed to use the stuff. its leased from the city of indianapolis from a different company, IDM.

This could turn out pretty sweet! if you buddy gets this stuff on CAD he could easily start sellin stuff to us. and it would take nothing to set up and crank a few peices off!
I could use some rear sets, but I ride a 2002 ZX6R kaw.

Yeah, that might be a little complicated to start off with.. At least, Id want to wait til he gets all the bugs worked out..
Eventually though, if you get some specs it should be possible.. :beernana:

CNC machined cylinder heads... Do 95% of the blueprinting and porting on the CNC machine and just finish the job up by hand.
If you friend gets good enough to start contracting CNC finish machining of cast/forged mengine parts he will be set for life (assuming he knows how to run a business.)
