Ok, so after sitting all winter, my car has been making some VERY irritating noises.

1st- The exhaust still seems like it's rattling but I've had it checked numerous times. The biggest thing to me is ever since I took my xcal off, i get MAD FUCKING RASP. Could the loss of hp/tq really make it buzz like a bee? It NEVER did this and then the second I took off the xcal, buzz buzz buzz.

2nd- My shifter rattles...non fricken stop. It is ridiculous. Is there ANY way to fix it? It drives me up the damn wall.

3rd- After the rear disc swap, I can hear the brake pads stopping in the rear, kind of louder then normal. Like...it sounds like they are rubbing.

One final question. Let's say I'm doing 50mph on a completely flat road. Let's say I just put the car in neutral and cost. How fast should I decelerate, because sometimes I think my brakes are dragging. It feels sometimes like when I'm coasting I'm braking because of how fast I am slowing down without hitting the brakes.

As always, thanks guys.

my shifter rattles since i've installed the short throw when its in certain gears, its annoying as hell. i've found the best solution is to keep my hand on it

Your rear brakes are rubbing...
and, yes, your exhaust does sound a bit raspy... What size piping do you have? and muffler? do you have a resonator?

When I put on my Hotshot header with stock piping and s/r borla muffler I had bad rasp too... installed 2.5" piping with a 18" resonator and Borla Pro XS muffler and it isn't raspy at all now, well, you heard it for yourself... I might add a glasspack cheap resonator just to make it quiter though... not sure yet

Jack up each corner and spin the tire assemblies. There should be almost no resistance.
Caliper pins may be corroded. Clean and lube them [and the bores]. Calpers can also stick at other areas.
Rear disc brakes have an adjustment - see if that is too tight. Also the parking brake adjustment or sticky cable.

New bushings should fix the shifter buzz. What kind of a shifter is it? My B+M buzzed because of a very small up and down [.0003"] clearance of the shifter and the ball against the retaining clip. I staked the brass with a prick punch to eliminate the tiny amount of slop.

Do you have a resonator on the car? They help a lot. Don't get a cheap restrictive one.

I have a resonator, and it is a TWM SS.

I'll get some new bushings for it. IDK about my brakes I hope they aren't sticking. Thanks guys.

The rear brakes could be dragging if they aren't adjusted properly or if your ebrake cable is too tight.
