so i'm heading to summit tomorrow and was thinking about picking this up whether it be from the store or online. i was just wondering if anyone knew if this is just stock replacement or if there will be any noticable gains i will get from it. i'm not worried about the opinions on price or what not i'm interested in the fact that it seems to be direct bolt-on

This is just my take, but for that kind of money I would say look into picking up a used long style header instead.

well, he could use that and have some decent gains by removing the stock cat. thats the biggest thing in our exhaust. then later on he could buy a paceshitter or a JBA and have a great set up and its still emmisions legal cause a cat is in the original place

It says it is an exact replica, and if it fits where our stock one goes, it couldn't be much different.
Cats by the head light off quickly for emissions, but should be downstream for best performance.
It seems like a quality piece, but don't expect a lot of flow gains.

Unless they changed the design since 2005, it won't fit. I had gotten one when my origional stock cat failed, when I recieved it they had the SPI (3 bolt) escort flange at the end that goes to the header. As we all know, the ZX2 has a 2 bolt flange at the header.

A cat downstream will help emissions, of course, and you know that. A decent one will not hurt your performance.
But they are very effective mufflers, and I don't think you'd like the sound without one for very long. It will get annoying.
So reconsider a downstream cat with your long tube header.
