Ok hopefully i'm in the right section for this question. Does anyone know how to do this? It tells the basics but no detail. - POT's mod. This involves wiring a switch and a potentiometer into the wires for your ECT (engine coolant temperature) and/or IAT (intake air temperature) sensor wires.-

You can find it in the knowledge base.

I'd use fixed resistors instead of potentiometers.
Much simpler. 30,000 to 50,000 k ohms.
It's easy to wire - use the wire near the computer from the ECT sensor.
Cut the wire, and solder the ends of the resistor to the ends of the wires.
This will give you POTs 100% of the time, which is no good.
So simply add wires to an on/off switch, and connect them to the ends also.
When the switch is open, you get the resistor's value - POTs engaged.
When it is closed, you basically get the straight wire's value, just like stock.
Very simple, and works well. I put my switch in the console, next to the handbrake.
[I don't use POTs anymore]

what exactly does POTs mod do?

Makes the warmed up car get the same advanced timing as a cold started car. Also can make the mixture richer.
Most chips, good computer codes, and SCT tuning advance the ignition timing for better power and driveability.
It fools the computer by bypassing the sensors.
Only use POTs for brief times - don't leave it on all the time.
