So I've got this problem some of you have probably read about.
I think it's the clutch.
When I push on the gas in 1st or 2nd gear it's really delayed. I can almost push it to the floor with very little accelerating while it engages.
So today I accidentally turned around in the gas station and it was right only where I wanted to pull out, so I just went right and then left around the median, but when I pulled a U-Turn I tried to pop the clutch and hit the gas. :thingnana: But then my car just like rolled around the corner almost like it was engaged but it was still idling...:run:
I'm pretty sure I'm just going to take it in. My service engine light is just 1633, so that wouldn't cause this problem. Or would it?
edit: 51K miles.... It's been tottaled and then home re-built. Not by me, so I don't know how good the quallity was. You can tell every things been replaced, but just who knows how well..

Pulled this off the interweb. Hope it helps.
DTC : P1633 - Keep Alive Power Voltage Too Low
Description :
Indicates that the Keep Alive Power (KAPWR) circuit has experienced a power interrupt.
Possible Causes :
Open KAPWR circuit
Damaged PCM
Intermittent KAPWR Circuit
Diagnostic Aides :
None
This is from the Service manual.
My suggestion would be to make sure the connections to the battery are are clean and tight. Same thing with the connections to the altenator.
Disconnect, scrape off any "gunk", wire brush, reconnect and tighten.
If it's the PCM(Power Control Module), it will have to be replaced. Probably best to get the dealership to do the job.
But, I'd imagine you'd see other drivabilty issues if the PCM was the problem.
Good luck.

There is an auxiliary ground wire at the negative battery terminal.
This goes to the PCM. This often gives grief with weird running problems.
Obviously, clean it and make sure the connection is good, along with any other leads and connections that you see under the hood.

Yes, this is a 56k car, I keep the underside of my hood clean. There's no dirt on my battery.
I've tested voltage at all different points on the battery/PCM components.
I used to think this was the MAF but I replaced it, twice. And then cleaned it.
I think it's a little more than a dirty battery.

If the clutch was the issue your engine would rev and the car wouldn't move.

Well some times it does. Like backing out, it's as if I pump the gas the clutch engages smoother? Otherwise it jerks and pulls a ton.

Stupid test for really worn out clutch. stop the car nose down near the top of a really steep hill. shut off engine and shift into low gear. take foot off the brake. Does the car start rolling forward? if not then step on clutch and let car start rolling. Now take your foot off the clutch. does the car jerk to a stop???? if so clutch good...if car slowly comes to smoothish stop...clutch toast. If you can't make it to top of hill to do test....clutch toast.

Having your engine compartment clean [along with you battery] doesn't do Jack Squat.
Some people look great in their coffin, but their innards are very foul!
It is the terminal ends and connections that must be removed and cleaned down to shiny metal.

But any ones car whose engine compartment is clean, must have enough time on their hands to use a battery cleaning solution to clean the battery terminals and use a wire brush to scrub the battery connectors.
Thanks for the info, I'll go do the test now.
