Are the cable ends on the battery good? Do you have an alarm that will stop it from starting that needs to be reset?

Yeah, if there are no clicks, beeps, or accessories when he turns his car on.. it sounds as simple as a bad connection to the battery.
Get a wire brush, disconnect negative and positive cables, scrape/clean till it looks brand new - apply vasoline to + and - stubs, put cables back. Clean the cables too!
edit: oh nevermind^^

If the alarm is going off, it might keep the car from starting. Do you have power to anything? Like do the interior lights and stuff come on?

ive already cleaned all that, i am interested in how to reset my alarm, because it does have starter disable function and that may very well be the nature of the problem

Try just hitting lock/unlock on the keypad a few times, see if that works. Or try locking then unlocking from the driver door. A lot of alarms have a button under the dash, you hold it in to reset it. If you replaced the starter- is it possible you didn't hook everything back up? If you have an alarm and everything isn't hooked up the way it should, it can stop it from starting.

Alarm systems on cars cause MUCH more grief to the owner [in real life] than thieves.

it turned out to be im an idiot. i took my car to a shop and had a guy i know disable the little switch that has to be pressed by the clutch to start the car so i could hook up my remote start. evidently, all he did was unhooked it and pressed the little button down and wrapped it about 2 times with electrical tape. the tape came loose and the button came out. only reason i saw it was cause i was looking for my alarm control box thingy.

Glad you found it. Shame on the mechanic.
Good work Sherlock!
