I did call, and they put Me on hold. I don't see how you got an answer so quick. I was on hold for 10 minutes and finally hung up, because I had to go to work. I will call after I get off of work though. They probably don't even have that information available by calling. I'll see what they say. I don't see why you think I would be wrong when you had wrong info referring to it as a 5.0 when it is actually a 4.9. Maybe wherever you got your info screwed up the info about the carb too.

I love the 2.0L Zetec, but I also like the 2.4L Vtec in Honda CR-Vs. Both are more than reliable and put out enough power for my needs. (Although the 2.4L Vtec doesn't seem powerful enough for hauling anything heavy in the CR-V, its good for just about everything else.)
1998 Hot ZX2. Knock mod, short ram intake. (Possible) Future mods - ATX resistor shift kit, high flow catalytic converter, Something to replace my rusted to hell muffler, S/R computer

Pontiac 389 complete with the Tri Power intake
    Ford 5.4L Supercharged

are just a few that hold a place in my heart - mainly for the cars that they came in and what those cars meant to me or represent in the automotive industry.

I'm not sure why you guys are splitting hairs over the Z-28 carburetor. Holley made many different versions of the 4150 with both mechanical and vacuum secondaries over the years. In that sense you are both right, in particular if you are talking about replacement carbs.

The OEM carb on a '69 Z-28 is a Holley 4053, GM part number 3923289-DZ, with vacuum secondaries. It is one of the 4150 series. The OEM rating was 780 cfm. Whether or not it differed much from a 750 or 800 cfm carb is debatable.

A few engines that caught my interest over the years.

Cosworth DFL 3.9 L endurance engine (larger version of the DFV (F1) and DFX (CART) 32 valve engines.) Definitely out of my price range...

Dodge 340 V8. I had one in my '70 Dart, punched out to 366 CI. Damn thing made about 415 HP at the rear wheels and the car was barely driveable. I'm surprised I survived owning that thing.

    Any BMW M-seies motor.

Ford 3-valve 4.8 and 5.4 liter V8 engines. These are engines for the future with plenty of affordable development potential. Anything in the future with the Ford Ecoboost name on it.

+1 on both of these and add the Pontiac 455, and also love all Ford engines.

    On second thought:

"The best (and my new favorite) engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental."

TWM Short Throw, HID's, yeah, that's it.

Other's can add comments to your title bar & you don't get to change them. The flamers think it's a riot. Considering the source... I'll keep it w/ pride.

If you are going experimental, then the TIE (twin ion engine) would win overall, it has enough power to get us to MARS in half the time and use half as much energy. and for all you star wars fans, think of Darth Vaders TIE fighter
