First of all this will be an ongoing series that I will be running. It is my first attempt at an online book. If you have suggestion of what you would like to see, please let me know. Also, alot of my info has been pulled from numerous years of experience and from reading other books.

OPENING STATEMENT

In the car audio world knowledge is power. I have seen individuals come and go because they couldn’t grasp things. To be successful in car audio you must learn and learn something everyday. A lot of people in this business will limit themselves to be knowledgeable in one area. Whether it is basic installs, fiberglass, custom box building, ect, ect. Through my years (16 to be exact) dealing with car audio I have gained knowledge in all fields. Am I a Master at them? Far from it. Car audio is an on-going learning process, or at least it should be for you. Basically my point is “don’t limit yourself”. Even if you know how to do an install or fiberglass, and so on, watch and learn from those around you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. That individual may know a small trick that you didn’t with the subject at hand. Luckily for me I was able to work beside some very knowledgeable individuals that showed me the ropes. Every time I work on someone’s car they ask a lot of “how-to” questions. Which is great because they thirst for the know-how to do it their selves next time. So, with that I have decided to put together a “book of knowledge”. It should give you a great starting point to dive into the fabulous world of car audio. I will cover everything from a typical trip to the store, myths, basic box building, tools, to troubleshooting. So, sit back, read, and let it all soak in.

INTRODUCTION

This book is a collection of the vast knowledge that I have learned throughout my 16 years in the car audio business. Instead of just showing individuals how to do something or answer question after question, I figured that a book was needed. This way these individuals can consult the book first and learn first hand. Its not that I don’t enjoy helping others, its just I wanted to offer another way to help. I can’t be around all the time. In the beginning I cover terms that get pretty in-depth and boring. Just stick it out and we will eventually get to the fun stuff. I just feel that you must know the simple “rules” before you journey into a car audio project. So with that, here is what I know…
