At the last car show i went to, i tested the db's my one 12" sub 600 watt amp puts out, i hit 137.2db's. Just wondering what everyone else hits and with what set up.
i have 2 10inch lanzar's and they hit 128 db with a 350 watt kicker amp. thats not to bad for the junk i got. i need a bigger amp cause the kicker amp i got shuts off after i have it turned up for a while its just not big enough for the subs they r 800 watts rms

I should find what my puts out. I have 2 12" kicker compvt (sometimes I also run american bass dx 12") and 2 kicker KS650. I have two amps, 1000 and 1400 watts. This is in a reg cab gmc sonoma.

the zx2 does good with a sytem, pretty good acoustics for getting loud.
yup my system hit 153.6 DB's to eclipse aluminum pro 12's and two kenwood 1600 watt amps pushing 3200 watts per sub at one omh

now thats what i'm talking about
meh that was a baby system lol each box was 3.5 cubic feet of air space and we could have fit more in there. here is a system me and my budy did for his at the time girl this is a civic dx not a hatch back.the box takes up the entire trunk. it is a infinite baffle design. first time we messed with fiber glass. we did not get to finish it because of a show that night. she hit 149.3 with this sub.

149 with a type x 10? good work
I know, i've built many systems in my day.. thats why i said good work. Good equipment helps.. but even cheap crap can get really loud with a good install.
That's the truth. I need to build a different box for my RF Punch Stage 2. I just built a measely .75ft box for it. I need to build either a ported or bandpass.
Im running a crappy sealed box right now, doesnt get real loud or anything, but its clean sounding. It gets decently loud, but nothing to brag about.

yeah his sunfire has two sets of Boston z series speaker just in the front channel. and two Boston subs with kenwood amps pushing them it gets crazy loud but has perfect sound quality. we have not miced it yet. but if my estimates are right (and they almost always are.) he should be in the high 140 low 150 but not by much. i will try to get pics of it and post them up the box is huge. he has enough room to fit a spare and tire lug between his box and the back of the car.
but yeah it is all in the box. we have been creating custom boxes for ten years now. i love taking systems to their limits. the box design process is my favorite thing about car stereos.
also side note that was on a older style mic not the new ones so her car only really hit 143.2 or so.

Lets see, awaiting install in the trunk is 2x Lightning Audio 12's @ 750w each, 400w 4-channel amp for the fronts and backs, Profile Multi-channel crossover network, and my little 250w sony x-plod amp. I am currently working on getting a bigger amp for the subs.
