Without knowing if the coil output is greater then the coil output of the stock system. Without knowing if the current draw of two coils is enough to burn out the driver circuit in the PCM. Without knowing if the voltage drop across the primary coil will reduce the secondary output.

I'll hand it to you (like I've already done) it looks nice and is not a bad idea. But, there are too many unknowns for you to just go around telling everyone this mod is great and reliable. There is also no basis to your claim that the car is faster because of the COP. Greater spark output won't make a difference unless the previous system was overworked or underpowered. Putting the DIS-2 box on my car did nothing for the power output of the engine. It smoothed the engine out and made it easier to drive. It also seemed to help a bit with my fuel econmy. But, it did nothing for the power output.

Very interested in doing this, and just buying the plate from Jay racing for my SVTF. But can we get a dyno to show it's a gain?

Yes, let's make this guy go out and spent $100 for a dyno so that you can see if this works..lol. Why don't you pay for the dyno?

I just did this myself, but I used coils from a Ford Expedition or F-150.

    27810_1418671837829_1563640840_985655_272127_n.jpg

To make it fit, I turned the boot 180 degrees

    27810_1418671877830_1563640840_985656_8360556_n.jpg

I next followed the schematic posted earlier in this thread.

The coils fit in the head quite nicely.

    27810_1418671797828_1563640840_985654_6448551_n.jpg

Even better, the Spark Plug valley cover fits back over the coils, however cylinder 4's coil connector sticks out the side a little bit.

    27810_1418671997833_1563640840_985658_5437836_n.jpg

I then attached the Noise Suppression cap directly to the head.

The plastic cover, it presses them down on the plugs. I have had zero issues both driving around town, and beating on it out on some dirt roads. The real test is on my 105 mile commute to work and back. Plus, now going COP it doesn't stumble at idle at all.

O ok didnt know how tight of a fit it was in there. Vibrations will kill them fast so hopefully they dont move around to much like that.

I can barely wiggle the #4 coil, it should be fine. I still plan on drilling and tapping bosses for it, once I get around to changing my valve cover gasket.

I would really like to see a dyno with this system. I wonder if you could run them off a DIS-2?

DIS2 would be super easy, wire it the same way you would a stock coil. Dyno on the other hand.......... probably no difference at WOT, however if you did a partial throttle dyno, maybe might see a difference there. I noticed a difference just cruising around town, had to use less throttle than i did with the stock coils. I'm hoping that equates to better MPG.
