the focus guys had crazy hype about this thing months if not a year in advance, just saying. I'm open to making it next year if I'm not doing rotations

As one of the lead organizers for this year's Focus crew that rolled in it was EPIC! We rolled in 71 Cars strong as one group organized from over 7 Focus Forums. We have made it one of the Major National Meets as far as Foci go, it's named Focus Rising. This year was our second year doing it and it has been dubbed the best of the Focus meets by numerous attendees that have attended the other National Meets (FocusFest in Arkansas and Focus on the Beach in Cali).
Other than the Showfield events on Saturday we had organized a Dinner and Awards Banquet at our Official Hotel, we had a Dyno Day on Friday at McNews Automotive in Dillsburg, and had a kickoff meet on Friday Night at our Hotel.
If you guys want to get noticed, you guys need to go as big as we did. We were nearly 100 Foci strong there, had four dedicated showfield rows, and planned more than just the Showfield Events planned. We had the support of Ford MONTHS prior to the event. With that support, I was able to work with Mark Kaufman who is the guy in-charge of Small Cars (Fiesta and Focus) for Ford Motor Company, and worked with him on getting him to speak at our Awards Banquet that we held on Saturday Night at Hotel Carlisle. He even came over to our showfield area on Saturday and spoke with nearly every owner on their cars and modifications. Then in a last minute decision, he offered up bringing a European Focus ST to the Awards Banquet for everyone to maul over and ask questions about.
We organized our roll-in from a warehouse location near where our Hotel was located and had everyone meet up there before 7AM so we could roll out as one HUGE group 70+ Foci thru the town of Carlisle into the showfield. Not only did Rick and the Team at Carlisle notice the HUGE roll-in but as mentioned so did Ford Racing. Heck even at Sam Auxier (the old school World Famous drag racer) noticed as he said something to me at Carlisle's Celebrity Luncheon that they put-on with some of the organizers from all the different clubs.
Personally as a Ford Small Car Enthusiast's I'd like to see you guys go EPIC next year! If you guys want to check out what we did go check out our website for Focus Rising 2010 at www.FocusRising.com. We also had social media platforms setup as well thru Facebook and Twitter. We haven't updated our info for 2011 yet but that should be coming this week as we are still in planning on a few things and not all contracts are signed off on yet.
That's the kind of thing I'd like to get this group to do. At least for next year we could get everyone together, and all roll in at one time. That way we could have dedicated rows of ZX2's on the show field. Then we could represent the ZX2 the way it should be.
You gotta get your registrations in early, don't expect to get multi-rows with only 10 or 20 cars registered by Gate-N-Go time. They base alot of the Showfield on cars registered by Gate-N-Go Cutoff and last year's showing so if there is enough growth to support it then they'll give you the space. You basically gotta go big or go home with proof in the registrations before Gate-N-Go.
