Haha I agree. Or even once in a while. I think he meant healthier though. As opposed to ramen mcdonalds etc.

This. Healthier, not healthy, lol. I need to teach myself how to cook some. The way to do that is just try and cook.

I definitely will wash dishes. I am not my old roommate. He left his dishes and I had to clean them until I just said forget it by the end of the semester and then he cleaned them about once a week. I cleaned the dishes I had pretty much right away. I don't want roaches. I moved into a different apartment that is my own, so I only clean up after myself. Generally I can't make that many dishes and if I clean them after I use them they don't pile up and attract bugs like we had at my old apartment.

If you have time, making your own sauce is VERY easy. Just a bit time consuming. This is what I had started with.

    You'll need

    1 yellow onion
    Fresh Basil
Large can of crushed tomatoes (28oz) I prefer San Marzanos
    Garlic
    Salt
    Pepper
    Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    Your favorite pasta
8-12 Pre made meatballs (Hand made takes too long)
Small can of tomato paste (if you like thick sauce)

First pour a little bit of olive oil in a medium pan and brown the meat balls on a med-high heat just on the outside. This will help make them a bit crunchy and cook faster. Just brown them. Make sure you roll them around so all sides get nicely done. Pull it from the burner once they are lightly browned.

Next chop all of your other stuffs. You'll need half of the yellow onion finely chopped. And 3-4 good cloves of garlic minced. Pour a tiny bit of olive oil into the big pot you have for the sauce. Then put your garlic in. As soon as it starts sizzling turn the burner off. Then pour your canned tomatoes, and onion in. Turn the burner onto a low heat. This is very important because you want to let it simmer. Don't make it the lowest setting though. Maybe a bit less than halfway between medium and low. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let it sit covered for about 10 minutes then tear off the basil leaves and throw some in. I usually do about 4 or 5 leaves. Stir it up nice. Recover and let it simmer for about 1 hour stirring every 10-20 minutes. Put your meatballs in. Simmer for 1-2 more hours, stirring every 10-20 minutes. Make sure the meatballs roll around. If you like thick sauce and did not use tomato paste you can leave it uncovered for the last hour. The steam will leave the pot and the sauce will become thicker because there is less water. After it is done simmering, sample a meatball. If its good then your ready. You can let it simmer for a bit while you make your pasta, or you can make it while the sauce is still simmering.

I hope this helps. Its REALLY easy, just time consuming.

Breakfast is by far my fav so here is my latest kick iv been on.

    Needed:
    Eggs
    town house crackers
sun dried tomatoes (I get the seasoned kind with basil in a little glass jar)
    lil smokes (I prefer cheese)
    Tortilla wraps
    cheese of your liking
    hot sauce

    How to:
Cut the little smokes into about 3 pc per 1 smokie or how ever you want to.
Then throw them in a pan and get them cookin
I usually wait until the lil smokes are kinda warm then crack a few eggs on top yet again this is all dependent on how much you want i usually only do 1 cuz I dont eat much
once the eggs are cracked get another pan going to warm up the tortilla or you can do them in the nuke
Then throw in some sun dried tomatoes
stir and make a big scrambled mess
once close to done toss in cheese, mmmmmmmmmMmmmm and crushed up townhouse crackers (you may be saying WTF but they add a nice light little crunch trust me)
Then pull your shell add light layer of cheese, add mix, hot sauce and enjoi

I love these! They are fast, cheap and easy. The ingredients will last long enough to make plenty.

My body was about to kill me when I finished school. 18months of not eating a wide variety of food was making me ill. So whatever you do, I'd stay away from making things in bulk and eating it for a weeks time.

I'd make enough for maybe 2-3 meals. For something I can grab and nuke in the microwave on a day I need something to eat fast. But if I ate the same thing for too long it'd take me awhile before I ever wanted to eat it again. I definitely would not make something last a week.

That sounds good. Maybe I'll try that tonight if I feel like going to the store before then.
