Thread: Civic SI test drive

  1. #1

    Default Civic SI test drive

i took an SI for a test drive last week. sweet looking car. smooth as silk. handling was nice & tight & very responsive. but, no torque. it doesn't have a snappy launch like my car. it sure doesn't feel like 67 more hp. very disappointed. was considering getting one. not now. may wait for the 2012 Focus. very cool looking car.
99 ZX2, Autumn Orange. too many mods.

Horsepower won't make any difference down low. Obviously the engines aren't built for low end torque, you'd feel the 67 more hp if you let it rev out to whatever the hell they rev to now, but not just cruising around town.
1999 zx2-orange-5 speed, knock mod, magnaflow stainless muffler, custom intake. Modular Depot tune coming soon.

If you are "just cruising around town", why in the hell do you need something with a lot of horsepower? Dumb statement.

Also, you can get more power out of this motor then you could with the one that is in your car...with just simple bolt-ons.

anyone can build a civic, f*ck aftermarket parts hit suppliers as fast as cars hit the lots.

Yes, anyone can build a Civic...I don't see the problem with that.

I'm not dissing the Zx2, as I enjoyed mine quite well.

They have 120 torque at the wheels. Better than what the ZX2 is stock. Plus, it has a relatively flat torque curve from 2,500 all the way up. That's pretty pimp.

Could you please communicate in complete, coherent sentences from now on? This fragmented first post is a little ridiculous.

Handles, rides better, is faster, and looks nicer than a ZX2. Oh, also has a nicer interior (I fucking LOVE the digital speedo mounted atop the huge tach), is bigger, more aftermarket parts.........

Now, I <3 my ZX2. But the Si is a better car in a ton of ways, unfortunately it costs ten times as much and that's to be expected.

Some people are just too closed minded, and some of the ones on here with the almighty Zx2 think it's the best car EVAR!!!11!!!1
