    Default Need opinions fast

So I am tired of driving my Geo, despite how good of a car it is. I want something a bit more comfortable to drive around in every fucking day (I drive...A LOT).

I've always had a little place in my heart for a nice looking Audi, whether it be a TT, A4, S4, whatever. I found this one on Craigslist and texted the guy tonight. He is really cool, and has maintenance records for EVERYTHING for the car. The turbo was replaced last year by Audi, along with a ton of other stuff just as maintenance. Timing belt, everything.

I found a door 28 miles away for $149. The guy said he would take 2k for the car because he's buying a new one this weekend, but I think I'm going to offer him $1750.

He said it idles great, shifts smooth, just has body damage. Other than that I'm good to go. APR exhaust, APR chip, etc.

175k miles is the ONLY thing holding me back, but I truly believe that if a car is taken care of, mileage really doesn't matter.

AWD, Turbo, 5 speed, leather, yes please.

I would say go for it. Mileage on the turbo would bug me. Otherwise its dirt cheep.

As long as its been taken care of, I'd say yes. But I don't think I'd pay anywhere near 2k for any car with 175k miles though.

    Pass.

    Money pits
    Terrible to work on.
    Expensive to repair.
Fall apart quickly once it starts.

You're always going to wonder what it would have been like.

Then again, you're always going to wonder why you bought a high-mileaged turbocharged German-engineered (read: expensive parts and labor) complicated car with damage.

If you follow your dreams, be prepared to have it potentially turn into a nightmare.
    So stock, it's SCARY. rawr.

The car lost about an ounce of oil just as it was sitting at the gas station where we left, so I am passing. It did drive amazing and was pretty quick for having 4 full grown people in it. The APR exhaust was sexy too. AWD launching was ftw.

They're definitely slick cars and fun to drive, just expensive for what you actually end up getting. My grandfather had a (newish) TT a couple years ago, and damn could he toss that thing around.

German vehicles + mileage = money, haha.

They are pretty sound cars up to about 100k miles. Then after that they tend to have issues. Buddy had an A4 and this was the reason he got rid of it. He was tired of working on it all the time and fixing stupid little shit. His car was also mint, very well maintained. That's prolly why he's getting rid of it. He know's it's gonna die soon and cost him a lot to fix.
