Default Rough weekend at the track...

It was my brother's day at the track this past weekend in our 95 EGT ice racer. We spent the week replacing the clutch and throw-out bearing because of the beating we gave it the week before. Long story short, final heat race on Saturday and passing for the lead when (skip to the 4 minute mark):

Were able to get to the parts car and replace the side windows for Sundays feature races. Had the body guy bang it back into shape. Raced without a windsheild in -40degC weather (-40degF) with the full faced helmet but it was a cold day for sure. Turns out he was able to come back from 18th to win both features on Sunday.

Sorry about your flip. shit happens.
That does not look like a 40 below race track. You wouldn't be getting the spatter on the windshield. At below zero temps. nothing but dust. Not being picky, just from years of experience.
Curious, what tires do you run ?

Too bad he flipped, he was doing well. Good to hear he came back to win. That video makes me wanna build an ice-racer.

Wow that reminded me of my drive to school in winter when I lived in WI. Well except for the whole flipping part. Too bad he flipped the car. Good to hear he made a comeback though.
Current upgrades: Stickers (4) make the car (look) faster, Powder's UDP, Hotshot Cold Air Intake, B&M Short Throw Shifter, Alpine deck with iPod cable, 6X8 Eclipse speakers, 6.5 Alpine "Type R's", Blazer "Ultra White" fog lights, K&N air filter.

i think he's saying they raced on a later day that was -40 without the windsield due to the crash in the video...not that the race in the vid was -40.

That could be it. Racing in the winter without a windshield is brutal. But we have a bunch in my club that do it everyrace.

Yes...the temperature dropped the following day to -40. It was pretty damn cold. That day it was actually pretty nice out.

We run in the rubber-to-ice class with the tractionized ice/winter tires. We have about 7 different sets to run from slush to the shiny stuff; Bridgestone, Michelin, and Goodyear.
