Throttle body design?

New cars will be throttle less soon, similar to diesel. No need to advance throttle design. Interesting Idea though

That's similar to the Tornado thing you an buy.

not at all. the tornado things are just vanes...this is more like the iris on a camera.

the problem with this design, is that it creates a shelf that the air hits, and as it's sucked past that shelf, it creates massive eddie currents. roller barrels are definitely the way of the future...individual rollers > *

The first pic makes it look like there's a huge lip inside the throttle body when the fins are retracted (TB open). That lip would probably kill your flow. You'de have to make fins flush with the TB when at WOT. It definitely looks a bit complex to be reliable.
